The Department of Health & Social Services invites the public to comment on the state plan for the proposed use of the 2009-2010 federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) block grant funds.

This proposed plan describes the procedures used by the Heating Assistance Program.  The plan includes the proposed allocation of funds for heating and weatherization assistance, a description of the method for determining eligibility and the amount of the heating assistance benefit, and the proposed benefit rate for the 2009-2010 program.

Any interested person may present written comments on the proposed LIHEAP plan to the Heating Assistance Program, 400 Willoughby Avenue, Suite 301, Juneau, AK 99801-1700, fax (907) 465-3319, email LIHEAP@health.state.ak.us.  Written comments must be received no later than 4:30 pm. Monday, August 10, 2009.
