In the heart of rural Alaska, where mountains meet rivers and communities know one another by name, behavioral health care is more than a service — it is a lifeline.
At Sunshine Community Health Center, our mission is simple and powerful: Community-driven healthcare, rooted in the strength and resilience of rural Alaska.
If you are a clinician who wants your work to matter — truly matter — this is your invitation.
Integrated Care That Changes Lives
At Sunshine CHC, you are not siloed. You are not working in isolation. You are part of a fully integrated primary care medical home where behavioral health and medical providers collaborate daily.
As a Behavioral Health Clinician I or II, you will:
Work side-by-side with medical providers to ensure patients receive comprehensive, coordinated care.
Identify and assess patient needs in real time.
Provide brief and long-term interventions.
Support patients before, during, and between visits.
Track progress and help remove barriers to care.
Empower individuals to self-manage both behavioral health and medical needs.
This is meaningful, hands-on, team-based care — the kind that reduces stigma, increases access, and meets patients where they are.

A Role With Depth and Purpose
Behavioral Health Clinician I
Starting at $70,000+ DOE
Clinician I positions are ideal for Licensed Master Social Workers who are passionate about integrated care and pursuing clinical licensure. You will provide primary care management services alongside specialty behavioral health services for a focused caseload. Clinical supervision is built into the role as you pursue licensure as a Clinical Social Worker.
This is not just a job — it’s a supported professional pathway.
Behavioral Health Clinician II
Starting at $80,000+ DOE
As a licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or independently licensed provider, you will serve as a clinical leader within the team. You will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders, while acting as a collaborative resource for other providers.
This role is perfect for a clinician who values both autonomy and teamwork.
Live and Work Where Others Vacation
Working at Sunshine CHC means living in small Alaskan communities like Talkeetna, Trapper Creek and Willow — places where:
You can hike, fish, hunt, ski, and camp after work.
You see your impact in the grocery store, at school events, and in community gatherings.
Your work contributes directly to the strength of the region.
This is rural healthcare done right — personal, powerful, and purpose-driven.
